MINDFUL MOVEMENT DROP-IN

The Whitewater Bromley CHC is hosting not just 1, but 2 exciting free programs – and a Bonus too - to help you lead a more mindful life.

Mindful Movements is a weekly drop-in where you can learn and practice gentle movement activities like tai-chi, walking and meditation to improve your body-mind awareness and balance.

The program is a continuation of the very successful Months of Mndful Movement which ran last Fall.

The bonus will be the availability of a professinal quality treadmill for those who want to spend 15 minutes using it during program times. This will be added in mid March.

Ray also promises a moderate paced mindful walk around Beachburg following the program, from 12.00-12.30

The August Report
1. MINDFULNESS FAIR PLANNING REPORT #3
The “Fair Board” met on July 12 to expand on our “dream” about a mindfulness fair in the Spring of 2013. A full report is available on the Mindfulness Fair page on our blog.

The form of the fair is beginning to take shape, however, because of unexpected urgent family demands, we have suspended the planning process until October. In the September Report we will identify the date, time and location of the next meeting.

2. COMING UP
Here’s what’s happening in mindfulness for the coming month or so:

2.1. Red Maple is holding its monthly Beginner’s Mind session at the Marguerite Centre on September 8, 9.00-10.30;
2.2. Both the programs the Art of Living and the Art of Being will be holding programs during September;
2.3. The Whitewater Health Centre is offering a series of Months of Mindful Movements. You can participate in any or all of 3 weeks of
•        Tai Chi (the Tuesday date time group is now full ;there are some spaces on Thursdays , Sep 13, 27, Oct.   and 11)
•        Mindful Movements (Tuesdays Oct. 23, 30 and Monday Nov 5 and Tuesday Nov 13)
•        Basic Mindfulness (Tuesdays  Nov.  20, 27 and Dec. 11, 18);
All the sessions are free and held 10.30-12.00. Ray Parchelo is facilitating each session. Signup is through CHC Reception, 613-582-3685.
2. 4. The Dances of Universal peace and the Kirtan group will be announcing fall dates shortly.

3. NATURE-DEFICIT LECTURE
The Town of Petawawa is pleased to host renowned author,Richard Louv, to kick off its new and innovative Walking Loops project. Louv, who penned the international bestseller books: Last Child in the Woods and The Nature Principle, will share his wisdom about the importance of promoting and maintaining healthy communities, and the need for children and adults to enjoy the benefits of connecting with nature. This is a free event .

24 FORM TAI CHI SERIES

There will be four sessions to help you learn the 24 Form Tai Chi Set (very simple). The sessions are lead by Ray Parchelo at the Whitewater Health Centre in Beachburg.

Sept. 11 and 25; Oct. 1 and 9; all sessions are 10.30-12.00

This tai chi is part of the Mindful Movements series offered at the CHC.

MINDFULNESS FAIR PLANNER #3

The planning group met on Saturday, July 14. Our main accomplishment was to push the concept for the Fair to much greater clarity and form. The minutes will be posted in a few days.
